CAMILLE NORTON

My name is Camille and I am a she/her.

I have been struggling with various health concerns since I was 8 years old. It began with “IBS”, shifted to undiagnosed endometriosis, and then for a number of years I was told I must just be suffering from a psychosomatic illness. Years passed, two laparoscopies later, I finally was diagnosed with stage I endometriosis. But I was also diagnosed with a second condition - one less known - called Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS). This condition is still very unknown and most doctors aren’t specialized in this area. Additionally, I developed a Dysautonomic condition in response to the PCS. Anxiety has always been present in my life, however, with ongoing chronic illnesses and pain, anxiety is just as severe of a condition as any of the physical ones.

I have spent many years attempting various treatments and solutions for these conditions. While none are straightforward or provide “cures”, I am grateful to have an arsenal of tools at hand to help cope through the bad days.

I feel very passionately about speaking openly about these conditions along with any mental and physical health struggles, in order to reduce any stigma and shame for those suffering in silence. I love meeting new people and always love to hear others’ experiences.
